***Skit: Worm Finds Treasure

(a peacemaking skit created for our chapel)

Act 1:
Narrator: It was a pretty day in the understory, and as always, Worm was grumpy.
Worm: I have to find that treasure!
Mole: You always try to find the gold.
Worm: I want to be rich! Do you have a problem with that?
Mole: Nope.
Worm: You know you can buy a lot with gold.
Mole: Well, I would rather be like Jesus.
Worm: Here we go again. Why do you even believe in Jesus?

Act II:
Narrator: Eleven years later, Worm is still trying to find the gold. Then they found the gold maps, but they were going the opposite way!
Mole: Being a pastor is wonderful!

Act III:
Worm: I am 80 years old, and I finally found the treasure, but Mole has the key.
Mole: Here is the key.
Worm: Yes, I can open the treasure! What? This is not gold. It’s a Bible.
Mole: In Isaiah 45:22, God says, “Turn to me and be saved, all the ends of the earth, for I am God and there is no other!” (Isaiah 45:22)
Worm: I’m sorry, Mole, I should have listened to you.
Mole: It’s okay. God says to forgive.
Worm: Well, I’m going home to read the Bible!

There are many different places that I could go on a family adventure, but I went to Brookside Park. Brookside Park is in the middle of the road. I went on trails. It is fun. I got a rock from the river. The blue trail leads to a yellow trail. Brookside Park is a forest.

I am the cooper.  I split tree trunks.  I heat wood over fire.  I measure how big I want the barrels to be. The circle needs different sizes.  I need lots of wood.  You put stuff that I don’t know what it is inside.  It takes a long time to make a barrel.  You put chemicals and then heat it.  I drill a big hole for the wine to come out if they want it.  You make a stand for the barrel because the barrel can break.  I’d better make the metal part shiny to look nice.

The plants are brown.

The woods are brown.

The brown trees are brown.

They have no leaves yet.

The plants haven’t grown.

The ground isn’t green.

The snow has melted,

but everything outside is still . . . .

Brown.

My project is about how to decorate cupcakes.  The first step in decorating cupcakes is to get the ingredients.  The ingredients are cupcakes, bags, icing, sprinkles, and a cherry.  (You need 15 of each ingredient for our class.)

The second step is putting the icing on the cupcake.  First, put the icing in the baggie.  Next, cut a corner off the bag and squeeze the bag in a circle.

The third step is to add the sprinkles and a cherry.  First, put the sprinkles on the cupcake.  Next, you need to add the cherry on top of the cupcake.  Finally, you can eat and enjoy the cupcake!

I wanted to follow Aliy Zirkle during the whole Iditarod as my musher.  She graduated from the University of Pennsylvania.  She lives in Alaska, and she has a lot of dogs.  I chose Aliy because I thought that she was good.

I was so excited to meet our musher!  The first thing I saw when I walked out was the big pups!  I wanted to pet the dogs, but I had to wait.  I could not take my eyes off the dogs.  Thank you, Mrs. Guertin!

I pull the sled through the wind

In the bitter cold.

I’m fluffier than the snow.

I won the race!

The musher was proud of us.

I’m the winning lead dog.
